When I first started making this piece I made it with the intentions of making a dedication piece to Ray Caesar; an awesome artist with a big heart and a fantastic surreal mind!
It was as heavily influence by Caesar as well as Dali and Master Renaissance artists such as Drouais, Fragonard, Boucher which I have always had an admiration for this style of work since I was a child.
After making the piece I decided to alter a few things such as the eyes and I made them black. There is always something so ghostly and inhuman about eyes that are blackened or whitened or just manipulated in some way. I started to play around with brushes and I wanted to capture movement in so I made rose petals around her head; like a head dress, which went into and/or out of the phonograph making it show sound and movement maybe and what music does to us, putting us into a trance like state and tranquility; connecting with it. Again just another reason I kept the eyes black it gave more depth to this trance like state.
Then I distorted the background with the intentions making the viewer feel like the enviroment to the piece has a hallucination effect and same with the reflection.
Changed the name because "Taurus" wasn't really the intention of this piece it was more hallucinatory, in what way it up to the viewer, but nonetheless how we sometimes perceived in sometimes a mind altered state.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
